(free) bodyweight training plans for everyone

A variation of bodyweight training is the upcoming (new) sport called 'Calisthenics'. This variation of bodyweight training can be seen as more extreme and tough. Lots of teenagers who get inspired by videos on YouTube and Facebook start with this sports individually. The great thing about this sport is that you can come a long way with just viewing and copying others that are advanced already. There are a lot of videos and articles available that explain how to do different calisthenics exercises. But not only teenagers try this type of bodyweight training, everyone can!

Calisthenics in essence:

"Calisthenics are exercises consisting of a variety of gross motor movements—running, standing, pulling, pushing, etc.—often performed rhythmically and generally without equipment or machines. They are, in essence, bodyweight training. They are intended to increase strength, fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling or pushing oneself up, bending, jumping, or swinging, using only one's body weight for resistance; usually conducted in concert with stretches. When performed vigorously and with variety, calisthenics can provide the benefits of muscular and aerobic conditioning, in addition to improving skills such as balance, agility and coordination."

This might sound a bit boring, but calisthenics is
everything except boring! After exercising a while you can start to learn great
new moves/tricks.
Let's list a couple of famous calisthenics moves:

  • Muscle ups
  • Human flag
  • Front lever
  • Back lever
  • Handstand
  • much more moves!

These are the more advanced (static) calisthenics
moves
which require a lot of training and strength.
There are also a lot of calisthenics freestyle moves
like:

  • Muscle up 360
  • Pull up 360
  • Shrimp flip
  • Bar jump
  • 180 regrab
  • and many more

The great thing is: you can learn this all by yourself! You need a lot of strength, determination and definitely patience but you can be very proud whenever you reach goal after goal. Another great thing about this sport is, almost everywhere around the world there are calisthenics parks to work out and meet other people doing the same sport. There's a great vibe among people who do calisthenics, you can learn quickly from each other.

There are even lots of calisthenics or street workout competitions. One famous competition is called The Battle of the Bars, organized by the WCO. The World Calisthenics Organization (WCO) based in Los Angeles, CA. promotes a series of competitions known globally as, Battle of the Bars(R). The WCO created the first ever set of rules for true 1 vs 1 competitions, including weight classes, timed round system, original judging criteria and a 10-point must system - giving the increasing number of athletes worldwide an opportunity to compete in these worldwide competitions. But there are much more locally organized street workout or calisthenics competitions you can visit or compete in.
